We live in an old wooden house (from the 1880s) in the old part of Bergen, right in the centre of town, just a 5-min. walk from the fish market and Bryggen. This is a perfect starting point for exploring Bergen by foot, with an excellent view over Bergen and Vågen, right next to the mountain Fløien (and the funicular).

The house is approx. 130 square meters divided on three floors, with modern interiors. We have 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. The children´s rooms are full of toys and games for both boys and girls. Since one of our children is an infant we have baby equipment available if necessary.
From our kitchen / dining room you can access the balcony where you can enjoy a barbecue, or in sunny days enjoy the sun until 22.
From our loft you can see the majority of Bergen, its surrounding mountains plus the neighbouring island and the ocean.

We live in the middle of historic Bergen right behind Bryggen - on the Unescos World Heritage list. Our neigbourhood consists mainly of old wooden houses from the end of the 1700 century with cosy narrow streets. In our neighbourhood you also find a supermarket / delicatessen, and a lovely cafe / bar. From our house it takes five minutes to walk to the city centre, where you will find a large range of restaurants, cafes, shopping, a theatre and a concert hall.

Bergen is the second largest city of Norway, surrounded by seven mountains, so if you are interested in trekking this is the place for you. Once a year Bergen arranges the seven mountain trekking in one day - it is a huge success with thousands of participants - of all ages!
Walking in the mountains can start from our house - as you can se from the pics the mountains are right behind our home - it offers hours of walking on marked trekking routes.
Bergen is also called the gateway to the fjords. From here you can travel by boat (you can see the harbour from our balcony) to different fjords, or you can travel on the popular Norway in a Nutshell tour. You can reach the neighbouring islands by car or bus, where fishing is a major attraction.

Bergen is also a great city for children because of the size - you can walk everywhere by foot, there is a popular aquarium, a science museum for children and several ocean baths.

We are a happy family of 5 - Hogne is a medical doctor and Cecilie a physiotherapist and dance teacher/choreographer. We have 3 children aged 1-7 years.
